I've completed the crossword but, out of interest-
16D (6) Weapons found in Devon, for instance, golden edged daggers...
?W?R?S
I assume the answer is SWORDS - S for south (Devon) and WORDS being the daggers but I can't find any reference to this description/quotation??
Has anyone out there got any ideas, please.

Thanks frugalfred you're right, I see it now. I'd got it into my head that "golden edged daggers..." was part of a quotation - but I was obviously thinking of a different one.
