Anyone else done this yet - fairly straightforward but I can only see 5 of the 6 links - wondered if there was an error in column 10 as 3 of 4 letters that would be correct are there.

I wondered about that.
But I decided that the last four letters of the unclued 'great divide' gave that particular link.
This only gives me 39 cells altogether though.

I didn't 'subtract' them - I just didn't include them! (The preamble says '40 OTHER - my capitals - cells').

38 - The answer's a less usual version of the five-letter word meaning share(dividend). The 'missing theme's location' is NE. Put the two together and you have a six-letter word that can mean 'search for'.

I had the answer, and a feeling NE should be in there somewhere . . . but didn't make the 'search' connection.
