I have just tackled the Sat Telegraph Cryptic Birthday Puzzle and would like to check if I have the following answers correct please.

17 ac clue: A DISPLAY OF LIGHTS c?o?s?o?d so I've put CROSSROAD

25 ac clue: BUNK  h?s?o?y so I've put HISTORY

I'm just not entirely convinced I'm correct though!  I know CROSSWORD fits for 17 ac and it would be fitting for that to be the correct word but I can't see the connection with lights.  Any confirmation or corrections gratefully received, thank you!

Hi - a light is another word for a clue in a crossword and like you I have History for 25a because according to Henry Ford "History is bunk"

I didn't know that about light referring to a crossword clue.  You learn something new every day!

Many thanks JRB, much appreciated.
