I give up, I'm stumped.


3A - Hand gesture of defiance... (1,4) I have _S_G_ and the only thing I can think of is A SIGH - am I correct?


12D - Producing Honey (11) I have M_L_I_E_O_S but no idea what the missing letters are - please help!

I'm with you DTGKnut. The first part I can relate to Churchill's V sign...but the second part is just plain confusing...

  the answer is  v sign  there is a good explanation of this  WIKIPEDIA  its explains the clue and how the hand is turned backwards for offensiveness

I put Melligenous in and then changed it to Melliferous!!

The latter is in Chambers but the former not.
