15A - novelist finds one hideaway for Robin Hood (9) I have I????????

18A is clearly meant to be Celestine (1D has to be evangelic) although RLS's donkey was called Modestine - a Tantalusian slip ?

Hi, can I butt in - am looking for help too 18across clue is Some ass supporting RLS but 1 down cannot be evangelic as 9 across is TRUTH which would make it E?T??????
I have just submitted and all correct:
1d evangelic
9a axiom
and yes 18a is Celestine
Recently read RLS's Travels With A Donkey, so mucked up grid with the correct answer (Modestine). Are these xwords ever proofread?
18a:
Canonical text of RLS has "Modestine," sure enough, but some websites unaccountably say "Celestine."
18across starts with a C so can't be modestine!
