Double Zero Key On Calculator Keyboard

Can anyone give me some examples of calculations where a "00" key on a calculator keyboard can be useful? The key is usually situated adjacent to the conventional "0" key on a keyboard.
It's use does seem to relate to the position of the slider switch situated at the top of the keyboard which has the settings "F", "3","2","0" or "A". I appreciate that these refer to the decimal point answer position which can be floating or with 3, 2 or nil decimal places, but I'm not certain what the "A" signifies.

I don't know what the A is for, but the 00 is useful if you're adding up columns of prices or similar in bookkeeping.

Setting "A" automatically formats entry with two decimal places.
Example : 1234 becomes 12.34
