I am doing the same crossword and am also stuck on this clue and agree with the original poster that D is the 3rd letter followed by an S. I was thinking Reds but with no real confidence

It's WADA, well done Grimaldi. Reason is, 77d of same crossword is "grassy new man at 91a [They're no dopes]". 77d is Reedie, new WADA president.
