Welcome to Title Builder Beta.

This small piece of kit is designed to make building your Quiz, Crossword or Puzzle question more effective. It should make finding your question easier for others and, the easier it is to find, the more likely someone is to answer it!

To build an easy to find question title simply select the paper and quiz, enter the quiz number if relevant and fill in the Publication Date. Once you’re happy click “Build Title” and the information should populate the Title field. Fill in the final required details of your question as you normally would, and click submit.

As this is a Beta we only have a limited number of papers and quizzes listed. If you think your favourite Quiz, Crossword or Puzzle should be listed here don’t hesitate to contact us.

What clues are the k and a from?

The a is from 16d ABLE I WAS ERE I SAW ELBA. 19d CRACK IT, However could be CHAMP IT , but very weak clue.

I think Jo has it. Reason= wit,hospital= h, bosses = knobs + no reversed.

Unfortunately, the second word does end in 'A', from the WAS in the palindrome and bosses are NOBS aren't they, not KNOBS?

no, it's knobs and it definitely does not end in A - check how you've written in you answer to 16d (it is a very well known palindrome)

They would normally be Nobs without the K, but I guess there is some setter licence here.

The Alba answer looks right for the other one, IMO

Sorry everyone, just realised that I got 16d wrong: ABLE WAS I ERE I SAW ELBA, gives last letter as 'S' for WITH KNOBS ON.

Correct palindrome is Able Was I ere I saw Elba

shortened version of "and the same to you with (brass) knobs on" nothing to do with nobs
