Welcome to Title Builder Beta.

This small piece of kit is designed to make building your Quiz, Crossword or Puzzle question more effective. It should make finding your question easier for others and, the easier it is to find, the more likely someone is to answer it!

To build an easy to find question title simply select the paper and quiz, enter the quiz number if relevant and fill in the Publication Date. Once you’re happy click “Build Title” and the information should populate the Title field. Fill in the final required details of your question as you normally would, and click submit.

As this is a Beta we only have a limited number of papers and quizzes listed. If you think your favourite Quiz, Crossword or Puzzle should be listed here don’t hesitate to contact us.

Remember: You do not have to use the title builder - simply enter the title and question as you normally would and click submit!

Are there no other EVers this week? A tough slog from Nod, which became a lot easier once I guessed the two words of the Playfair phrase that were in the grid. A good challenge, but perfectly fair (despite the fact that I'm not a Playfair fan). Is this the first Playfair to appear in the EV? If so, it's good to see the editor mixing things up a little.

There's been a few playfairs earlier, I believe that the former Editor set a few playfairs himself, e.g. HOTIUHTW earlier this year with a bird theme.

Clever of Nod to choose a key phrase which can't be found using Quinapalus' Playfair cracker, forcing me to not be lazy and to find the phrase by actually cracking the code myself. It was definitely helpful to have the first two words in the grid as well as a suggestive title.

Very tough but fair and fun. Happy new year to all.

Hello Jim & drb, not available by checking QPC, don't stand a chance! Like some of the clues but have no hopes of getting to the endgame..............if you scientists have to work so hard, we 'arts' persons have had it! Happy New Year to all for tonight.

What's the matter with you all? Where are you? No chat, no craiq, no info. Dear oh dear what a dull slog! Amazingly I have managed to get the playfair code, but being so stupid at working them out it is taking ages, will get there tho' it is a very devious tricksy puzzle and I am totally convinced that crossword compilers live on a different planet!!

It does seem to have got a little quiet on the EV front over Christmas. I'm sure that things will pick up in the New Year.

devadolly, so glad you managed it - might be encouraged to try. I think the website being down is part of the problem. An EV appears for only a few hours so if you can't get the newspaper, there is no chance of doing it.
