Hi all.
I've completed everything except the highlighting and am now bemused. If I use the words given in the definition in BRB I can only get to highlighting in 14 across clues. Am Imissing something
Geoff
Geoff - first word of the highlighting ( 9 letters) is given by the initial letters of the 9 unclued rearranged. Then look at your list of ALL the unclued in order and you should be able to spot the 2nd word.
Yes Roslyn, I agree with the first word, which then uses 8 across entries.
The second word, beginning 'S' only uses 6 entries. The fourth letter seems to be my problem.
Geoff
Hi again Roslyn
I agree with the word but the only way I can fit it is with 'P' and 'E' in same entry and therefore only six entries, a total of fourteen.
Geoff
Hi Roslyn
It seems too obvious to be wrong and the rubric suggests that words are from definition so there appears to be no alternative. I will wait to see if there are any other responses before submitting.
Geoff
Am I correct in thinking that we must highlight the 16 cells which we have selected to make the (9,7) words? The nine initial letters of the unclued lights merely confirm the 9 letter word.
Thanks as ever Daniel.
I have solved this but my problem is letter 5 of the 'victim' to be highlighted. The fifth across clue i.e. 15ac does not have the required 'e'. The second word which others have been questioning has two letters from the fifteenth across clue and so one uses fifteen clues to get sixteen letters as per the preamble.
