Hope everyone is safe? Anyone had any damage from the horrendous winds in the night? I lay awake until 4am, worried the roof was going to go! Can't stop thinking of all those who live in the flooded areas down South/South West and what they must be enduring ................. we hope for better weather soon.

We had the worst of it midweek in the North West, it is breezy here today but hopefully no risk of damage.
Hope all those effected are ok.

Still extremely windy again here in Leicestershire ...... after a calmer interlude at breakfast time.
The house at the back of us has about 5 ridge tiles missing and a small hole in the roof.
Around me there are several trees down, roads strewn with bits of tree that have been blown off and the wood yards are going to do nicely from all the fencing that needs replacing.

From what I've seen so far there is not real structural damage to houses although a few perimeter walls need attention after having trees fall on them.

It is still quite lively out there but nowhere near what is was like in the night.
Little damage to our Alpaca barn and a few trees blown down and many electric cuts all through the night but us and all animals safe and sound.
It was pretty bad in London and my bin has gone missing but I also feel for those hit by flooding and gale force winds. I saw a news clip earlier showing an area with around 4 to 5 feet wall of water crashing into a building. Looked like a tsunami. Frightening :/
fence down which isn't the end of the world but daren't let dog out because he'll think next door's rabbits are dinner
Some damage to outbuildings, but fortunately the house is in one piece. Mind you, its so old and the walls are so thick,I think the dear old place looks after us. Wind had dropped, but it seems to be starting up again now.
Beautiful here; mind you, we had a squally storm 30 mins ago laden with hail and snow, so
it's still around - if I can finish without pressing the submit button.
Hi, Ann....was a scary night wasn't it? I've only had some water in the garage when the soakaway couldn't cope and a garden arch down.

The daughter has lost all her fences....flattened all the planting we did in the autumn.

I went to the hairdresser this morning then called at the shop a few yards away...as I walked in the assistant said....Wow I can see it's still windy by the state of your hair..... :-(
Our fence is down. I'm surprised the wasn't any trees down in the park.

Glad you all seem to be ok, was worried about the ABers who live in the South, but some have posted.
Did you see the size of that sinkhole - 20ft deep, 35 ft long, which has appeared in the housing estate in Hemel Hempstead? Goodness only knows what will happen next ...........
Quite calm here at the moment. Was wondering why the storms always seem worse at night?
Sinkholes seem to be appearing more and more, another thing to worry about.
The guy talking here is in the flat that I used to live in many years ago (or pretty near it) we also used get the waves hitting the windows but not this bad.

I spent Thursday morning checking my roofing slates........which was made far easier for me because many of them were at ground level. :o(
LOL jth. I was watching a tree in the rear garden moving & bending in the wind & suddenly noticed that as the wind gusted the lawn behind the tree was lifting with the tree moving. As the tree is only feet away from the bungalow panic stations. Contacted our local friendly builder who has replaced most of the fence panels that have blown down & he has attached large timber props to the tree until we can get it removed.

We have a large eucalyptus tree in the garden and it was almost being blown horizontal but thankfully it survived!
LOL every storm I've prayed next door's eucalyptus snaps but damn thing just keeps bending!
