I thought I'd better post this, as it is now much later than usual and you never know - someone might be waiting for 'The Shrubbery' to open, though few seem to pass this way these days.
Half way through the month and everything still to play for in the two weekly Links Games
First to kick off is the KM Links game which will be launched in Q&P fairly early by Seekeerz but there is no need to rush to play that version (based on 'The Daily Telegraph' GK crosswords Sat/Mon.) as there are no time-sensitive bonus points.
The sister game of the MM Links is being set this month by 'Good King John II' (aka rockfordill) who has been giving an American Midwest flavour to his introductions - but will it carry over into his challenge? Find out tomorrow when his introduction will be posted in Q&P at 08:45 and the challenge itself will follow at 9:00. Best to play early in this one to have the best chance of Bonus Points which only last for 2 minutes after each link is first discovered.
As usual, anyone can play either game.
The Shrubbery is now (rather belatedly) open for socialising.
The demise of the Shrubbery was the death of the old Multiply site where it was so easy and swift to log in and post comment.
Facebook is convenient but clumsy and uncoordinated by comparison.
This site is good for what it does but not much else.
I leave you with this link and see you all here tomorrow a.m.
Hi Steff...it's been a hectic time in the Ward household I'm afraid. Plenty of illness and problems, but hey will sort themselves out I hope.
Youngest child gets married in September.
So good to see you Strix. :-) I miss you keeping me in line!
It will be cold in the shrubbery tonight, so they will all be indoors watching telly.
Hello everyone and particularly Pauline. I've just got back from a day in London at the spring Knitting and Stitching exhibition at Olympia. Could have spent a fortune on wool but managed to restrain myself! I did buy a new catnip toy for the twins from the Cats' Protection Society stall - already much appreciated by the younger of the two.
Hi Steff -sorry about the letters in schooner but I am impressed that
you knew the term Prairie Schooner - not many got that one.
I'm up tonight practicing my cutting and pasting ready for 8.45 in the am !
I'm not worried so long as gen2 is on hand to bail me out ! Has been foggy down here on the south coast but it should clear up for tomorrow so you'all
have a good weekend.
J
Yes fine thanks Pauline. Have just about recovered from the shock of being 70 back in the summer..... and looking forward to going to USA in two weeks' time to see the family. Hope your health problems all get sorted quickly.
