The other week BT left a 1571 message instructing how to retrieve 1571 messages away from home on your mobile. It's now been deleted(!) , so does anyone know the way to do it please?

Don't you have a phone PIN or somesuch? You dial your own number, wait for voicemail to kick in, and then enter the PIN.

sounds like the first part of it but, erm, what PIN?
From the BT website
"Dial 1571 from your home phone and select Option 3 to choose your own personal 4 digit PIN.

When you're away from home, dial your home number and wait for 1571 to answer. Then press the * key and enter your PIN to access your messages."

Thanks Frank97. I've just set up a PIN now, but it doesn't respond and won't let me access the messages. I'm waiting for the instruction to "Leave your message after the tone" to input the PIN is this correct?.

Belated thanks again Jeffa and Frank97. Apparently my old style mobile phone can't access it, but a newer smartphone does. Problem solved!.
