LOL, no you are right, I really should read the clue - but all boats are said to sail, whether or not they actually have sails.....

Both answers do have their weaknesses it is true. But no SMALL sailing vessel could be called POWERFUL I wouldn't have thought. A dodgy clue IMO.

Sailing vessel doesn't have to mean 'under sail' Don't all boats/ships 'sail'

tug boat= a boat with a powerful engine, used for towing barges , ships etc
