Are Ukip Anti-Christian?
Surely this man has every right to say what he thinks about Islam and homosexuality?
Like it or not, many Christians believe that homosexuality is genuinely an abomination before God.
Therefore, why are the UKIP hierarchy distancing themselves from him? Why not champion his right to free speech?
And more importantly, why call him 'a crackpot'?
If (as the usual suspects never tire of telling us) a member of the Liberal atheist chatterati used this term, we would be lambasted.
So how can UKIP get away with it?

So any one that holds the bible to be true has to accept that view as correct.
I'm just waiting for the Gay lobby to say that we must 'edit' the Bible to fit in with their views.

whiskeryron - two things...
1) It's not the PC Brigade (who are now formerly working with Army of Do-gooders) who are trying to silence this man. It's UKIP themselves.
2) It's only now that I've written your name out that I've realised you're whiskeryron ant not whiskeyron, and that makes me feel sad.

The gay lobby won't be looking to edit the Bible to remove any passage that states that homosexuality is 'the one sin that can never be forgiven', probably because the Bible doesn't say that.
Blaspheming against the Holy Spirit is the one sin that can never be forgiven:
Jesus talked about the unforgivable sin in Matthew 12:31-32: “And I tell you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven men, but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven. Anyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but anyone who speaks against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven, either in this age or in the age to come.”

I thought the Son of Man was Jesus... and I thought the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit were one... how do you blaspheme against one and not the other?
Too early in the moring for complex theological thought.
The answer to the OP may have something to do with Ukip needing Muslim votes, which of course it used not to when it was happy being a Silly Party. Now it wants to be a Sensible Party such opinions must be weeded out. I don't know where its blaspheming members will turn next if their party rejects them.
And what about its supporters who hate the EU and hate Islam and insist on their right to say what they like? Who will they vote for now?

Oh look. Another one.
It's all fine though, apparently. Just another name on the long list of lunatics that UKIP has allowed to get into influential position.
WHEN are people going to start questioning this party's credentials? What will it take? Is it not clear that this kind of thing is a direct result of the party's failure to vet their membership?

they're vetting them now, Kromovaracun. Their U-turn from Silly to Sensible - on the back of a perceived chance to actually win some "power" (in Brussels, anyway) if they can look Sensible enough - came so quickly that they haven't really had time to deal with the lunatic fringe. What they're doing now is a bit like what Cameron did when he got rid of the Tory backwoodsmen claiming expenses for their moat-cleaning.
