1. What is that pocket-within-a-pocket for, on the right-hand front pocket of every pair of jeans I've bought?
A logical answer would seem to be that it's for coins (to prevent them wearing holes elsewhere) but that mini-pocket either seems to be so small that I can hardly get all my change in (yet alone get it out quickly at the supermarket checkout) or it's so shallow that all my change drops out of it as soon as I sit down.
I've never seen anyone actually use it (do you?), so what's its purpose, please?
2. What am I expected to do with the ridiculously long laces that seem to come with trainers these days?
I just need about 15cm of lace sticking out of each side of the trainers to tie a nice neat bow. Instead I'm presented with around 60cm on either side.
Perhaps I've missed a fashion trend and I'm expected to wear suspenders and tie my laces to them? ('Cos they're ruddy well long enough!).
Or is it just that the people who design trainers like watching people fall flat on their faces as they trip over their ridiculously-long laces for the umpteenth time in a day?
3. Why has the label on underpants moved?
Nearly 60 years ago my mother taught me to look for the label when putting my pants on. If it was at the back I'd got them the right way round. So I automatically glance at the label when putting my boxers on. My eyes see that it's at the back and my brain registers 'OK', so I try putting them on, only to (quite literally) get my knickers in a twist as some wally has decided that the label now goes at the side. Why?!!!!

If I win the lottery I'll dress in Victorian style (smoking jackets, etc), which I'd really love to do. I'll definitely have a pocket watch ('cos I absolutely love them) but I want to pull it (a la Sherlock Holmes) from the pocket of my tweed jacket, not from a pair of 'George at Asda' jeans, thank you!
(But thanks for the information)
So, does anyone here actually use that pocket for anything (apart from slimline GB's lighter)?

>>>I don't think you should be wearing jeans or trainers at your advanced age
Bloody cheek!
It's actually got nothing to do with age but a great deal to do with expense. A cheap pair of jeans costs £5 or £6. A cheap pair of trousers usually costs around three times as much. A reasonably stylish pair of jeans can cost £15. The last time I saw a pair of trousers I really liked the look of they cost £200. Similarly the trainers I'm wearing cost a tenner, which is rather less than posh shoes do!
