Having seen on Sky news all the illegals in Calais make shift camp sites trying to get to England why don't the French round them up and send them home. After all if they're from Africa they must be illegal in France too.

My sentiments exactly

Because it's cheaper to turn a 'Blind Eye' than to try and repatriate them
I often wonder the same.
After reading some of the threads regarding this influx of people from the Continent, I feel quite lucky to be living across the pond. For such a small island country how can they all fit in...If, in fact, they do: health-care, education, housing etc, etc?
^aiding and abetting
sorry stu, crossed post.
As The Goon Show's Eccles once said: "Everybody's gotta be somewhere."

Broken legs surprisingly common in Calais?
War of attrition?
Psyops?

Blimey!

Sounds like you lot should be patting the Frenchies on the back for helping your cause, not criticising them for leaving the gate open.

(Not including you, Buenchico, obviously).
There should be no messing around at that port, these people should be rounded up, fed, put on a transporter plane & get rid of, it shows what the UK Is like, Freebies, its no wonder they want to come here, Its about time this and every other Government involved should say, enough is enough & charge the Migrants country's of origin a cost for their return.
/// "Everybody's gotta be somewhere///
somewhere, not here.
Do you think there is a possibility that the French are helping these people to get into the UK by putting them on the Trucks to get rid of them? I have my thoughts!
TWR...you are aware that illegal immigrants are not entitled to anything?
Do you think Ummmm? once across that water is surprising what they can get!
they get a lot of help from useful fools. it should be illegal to support them, imo.
droits humains ?
Lucky us for living in a country that we don't have to risk our lives and livelihoods to escape from.
Have some sympathy for these people, please.
Immigrants get help. Illegal immigrants don't. If they try and claim anything they'll be caught and deported. You can't claim anything without a NI number.
How do they all fit it ?

Well the UK has the smallest houses in Europe according to the TV programme QI, and each new build seems to be getting smaller and closer together.

We simply don't get regular prolonged experience of elsewhere to realise that. Presumably a large, premium priced, place here is likely to be considered standard elsewhere.

That said there are many seeking homes, and councils given a duty to find them when the real problem can not be solved by continually increasing the pressure on resources. From experience I know that leads to abuse of the perceived scapegoats. If the morons in charge don't sort out the actual cause of the population problem it will only get worse.
they're not illegal immigrants, they're 'asylum seekers'. Years later, if they get turned down and somehow exhaust the myriad appeals process, they are asked to present themselves for deportation. Only then, when surprisingly, they fail to turn up do they become illegal immigrants.

///Have some sympathy for these people, please///

Said one who has obviously fallen for the Sob Stories!
How many more do you honestly think this small Country of ours can support Cj?
