Istart 123 Removal
Can anyone please advise on the best guaranteed way to remove the istart 123 browser which has got into my dad's PC? He is elderly and has not noticed small changes that have been happening over a period of time.
It has reached the point where all of his browsers have been disabled apart from , apparently Google but when opening it up it is the istart browser which will not let him access any internet content. He is running Windows 7 64 bit.
His Chromecast and Google nexus tablet no longer work, my mum cannot get an internet connection on her wireless laptop and my dad is in a real state of anxiety.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Consequently it is a 'PUP' (potentially unwanted programme) and needs to be removed along with other 'Pups' which may be in the computer.
Download and run a scan with the Free Edition of Malwarebytes. DO NOT agree to any trial of the Premium edition. Then post again and say how you have got on. .....Click to download Malwarebytes.......

Incidentally, you did say..."His Chromecast and Google nexus tablet no longer work, my mum cannot get an internet connection on her wireless laptop and my dad is in a real state of anxiety."
I am not ignoring the further problems but feel that we should deal with them..one at a time. If I am unable to help in matters, it is to be hoped that other ABers will be able to offer assistance.

Thank you everyone for your help. It took me 2 hours to fix this problem as I could not get on to the internet to download any of the clean-up programmes.
I uninstalled all of the suspicious looking programmes from the control panel, including istart and did a system restore back to when the problems started.
It was still then showing Tivo as the default browser but I deleted this via Chrome settings, re-booted the PC and my dad now has his browsers working again and wi-fi!
I won't mark a 'best answer' as you were all very helpful and my 83 year old dad is happy! :D
