Ambulance Stuck

was in town today an ambulance was approaching with lights and siren to a limited access pedestrian zone where the person who was ill was and it could not get the auto bollards down it was stuck there for 9 mins , few of us stood watching in disbelief the driver couldn't get them to go down they waited for a car parking attendant eventually turn up and do it,
talk about "the golden hour"..

Did one of them not leave the vehicle and approach the waiting patient on foot?

the patient was a long way down the precinct but no they didnt the driver was sat with his arms over the wheel just waiting, they decide to do something about reaching him on foot but then the attendant arrived

That is not good, at least one of them should have gone to attend the ill person. Wasting time can cost lives.

exactly it could have been someone with a stroke
didnt hang around for the outcome

Whether it is a locked gate or bollard or the middle of a field they should have attempted to reach the patient.
