Question Author
I'm not sure which is right -' stumpy' or 'stumps'. End of the word play is 'y' so is it 'stumpy'? but in dictionary this means short and thick set. Can anybody explain please? Maryloo
stumps- end o play in a cricket match.
to perplex = stumpy plus y end of plaY
Stumps - end of play in cricket/perplexed
meant stump = perplex
Question Author
If it was 'stumps' wouldn't it be 'perplexes', not perplexing? It seems the wrong part of speech. Maryloo
