Odd story this. It appears that the motorist was seen to be driving a Nissan Elgrand. I had never heard of this model, so I googled it. It must be a very rare car in Britain and even more rare in South Wales, so I can't understand why the Police haven't managed to locate the driver, in the 3 days since this serious assault happened on Saturday. The local paper has a photo of the vehicle and I can't see the number plate but I am sure that the Police could detect it, using the same technology that is used in the dozens of Safety Camera vehicles that are on our roads ::
Of course it's deplorable, it's assault and does the excuse for a grown man no favours - a ticking off or a picture on mobile and call the police to ask if they'd speak to the boy is fine. I love the comments of 'Sweet now but what if....' shall we apply that to all wrongdoings ?
// The boy had been with friends waving at passing vehicles and throwing small chocolate sweets on to the road. //
Why would they do that? I do not believe it for a second.
I will probably get admonished, but I have little sympathy for the child. He has learned a lesson, the hard way, not to vandalise other peoples' property.
tell you what, the little *** wont do that again! Not condoning it but sometimes valuable life lessons can be acquired this way. No Idea why plod hasn't pursued this, pehaps they also see it as natural justice.
It's not right to hit the Lad, but there again the Lad should not have thrown the sweet, the person appears to have a prised car & a costly motor, My is in very good condition, but I would have a word with him.
In Middlesbrough in certain areas, the nightly entertainment for youngsters is to throw bricks at passing cars. It happened to me once and if I had caught the little git who did it I would have battered the living daylights out of him.
These kids might only have been throwing sweets today....but who knows what they would move on to
(A taxi driver I know had his side window put through with a thrown brick. Luckily he didn't have a passenger. He battered the kid AND the kid's dad)
