stuck on 2 14 Slender hints at this rabbit trapper and his colleagues - I knew where it came from and looked up my Shakespeare - Merry Wives - second word is Bardolp but cannot for the life of me work out what ?O?D is - from the first scene - Pistol Is Ancient and Nim is Corporal and Bardolph Lieutenant in the Henry plays but what in tarnation is the first word - nothing in Slender's words to indicate; Also 26 across One who hid pots and pots of reading matter E?S?N? The only thing I can come up with ESSENE but cannot figure out if this is correct - Help someone please!!
Have just read that Vakayu - Slender's exact words in my edition of the works of Shakespeare are "Marry sir, I have matter in my head against you and against your coney-catching rascals Bardolph Nim and Pistol....."
The first word ends in D from Little Dorrit and the O is sourced from Court Poem - I cannot for the life of me figure out this word
