Don't understand your question.

If these men had been wronged by fraudsters, they should have gone to the police. Instead they resorted to thuggery. Their jail sentences are appropriate.
Not sure why this is in a national newspaper, it is local paper stuff at best.
The Mail must be short of copy today.
I think I can see why it's in a national newspaper. This particular one, anyway.
They held them hostage for a few days. They must have been terrified. I don't think the sentences were long enough.
It's demanding money with menaces. Seems fitting to me.

Whilst I have some sympathy, the law is the law.
You can't hold someone hostage and beat them just because you believe they have ripped you off. They should have got longer sentences in my opinion.
Sounds like all concerned weren't exactly strangers to underhand dealings. I have no real feelings either way about the criminal fraternity knocking each other around.
True Zacs, so long as there is no collateral damage.

Oh dear it was even reported by the BBC, it must have been because of their skin colour, always a prime supporter of racial equality.

Not a difficult job Zac, there are so many around.
And what conclusion would you draw from their prevalence AOG?
AOG - "janbee

/// Gromit, I like your Spitting Image avatar. ///

If mocking the dead is one's cup of tea."

Political satire - which Spitting Image was - has been around for hundreds of years, and all politicians accept carricaturing as part and parcel of political life.

Plenty of cabinet ministers have framed prints of Gerald Scarfe's cartoons which are far more savage than anything SI would come up with.

So I think the notion of 'mocking the dead' is somewhat misplaced here.
Pathetic sentence i think
I can see their frustration if the two were fraudsters this country`s law seems to favour the criminal not the victim, were they right to do what they did ? maybe not but if they conned me or mine i would certainly think of it.
You'd think about torturing someone?
ummmm maybe not long torture but i would have no qualms about giving them a bloody good hiding, too many wishy washy do gooders here,no wonder criminals don`t give a damn about the punishment they receive
