Have no solutions for you. But, my patients met through Ireland's own lonely hearts club. ( for Irish male and females living in uk in late forties early fifties)... and, arranged to meet under Victoria station clock ...... they met ....5 daughters... et al

That puts me in mind of a letter (not in the penfriend section) inthe letter page from a person in USA asking what to do with their body when they died, I replied suggesting they leave their body to medical science. It turned out that the magazine did not print the whole contents of the letter as the guy was a prisoner and was looking for money. I phoned the prison in San Francisco only to be told the only way this guy would leave prison was in a box, he was a mass murderer and not there for stealing a packet of smarties.
I have a had a penpal in Alabama for over 55years now, since we were youngsters.
