I have managed most of this but there is something wrong. The theme is the state funeral of Nelson. I have one word which is ?AVENGO?E and I don't think such a word exists. Also I am stuck with the bottom left hand corner. Most of the clues have a superfluous word. 50a: Sailor returning last of cargo. I have ???D?N. I wondered if my "D" was wrong and the answer is "NELSON" but the "D" comes from "RACED" which I believe is the answer to "Rushed account in florid eulogy" being "AC" for account inside "RED" for florid with "eulogy" being the superfluous word. Any ideas would be gratefully received.

Brilliant, Scorpiojo! The crossword specifically mentioned the name of the boat but I hadn't put 2 and 2 together. Many thanks
50A is the special clue mentioned at the end of the preamble - the answer is the unchecked letters of the real answer which is BLADON - Churchill's last resting place.
