what has stick got to do with jam? Surely it's stuck?
Stuck is the past tense of stick, therefore stuck is not relevant. The clue asks for the present tense, and, as 'jam' can mean 'stick', as in 'to cause a door to jam' = 'to cause a door to stick', the answer is stick.
