Fabulous Day Here In Swansea !

Blue skies and a huge great yellow sun, not an everyday phenomenon here in South Wales ! So, off with the Yorkshire Wolfhound up to the Beacons for the day....flask, sandwiches, pork pie, and dog biscuits !
I think we will go here :::::

Jackdaw....I feel drawn to the Mountains somehow. They can be stunning on a day like this. I feel so lucky that all this marvelous scenery is only 25 mins away from where I live. But we also have wonderful coastal scenery as well :::

Caran...Usk, the town and the Usk Reservoir are two very different places !
The Reservoir is about 10 miles east of Brecon, up in the hills and isn't easy to find. But worth it . It where the River Usk begins.
I went up to the top of the Kymin 2 weeks ago, to the Naval Temple. What a marvelous view from the top ! I love the Forest and I would move there tomorrow if I could !

Maydup...the weather yesterday couldn't have been better ! Clear blue skies, with just a few little cotton-wool clouds. We are glad we had our Parkas on, as it was a little cool but not really cold. The sun was warm on my face. Spring has finally arrived !
As it was an International day, we had the mountains to ourselves ! The fishing season hasn't started yet, so there wasn't anybody else up at the dam. Lots of celedines, primroses and crocuses out in the hedgerows. Also, hundreds of tiny little lambs, some of them maybe only a day or two old, all skipping about together. I love this time of year !
We saw 4 Red Kites, which actually isn't that unusual as there is a feeding station about 6 miles away. If any ABers live within driving distance of the Usk Reservoir, I can't recommend it highly enough.
There is a Roman Road near by, which we have walked before. Its blindingly obvious who built the road, as it is arrow-straight for miles !
All in all, a lovely day out but we both had sore paws when we came home, so we have having a lazy day today, doing important things, like the crosswords !
