From a NHS spokesman:
People from Black, Asian and minority ethnic communities make up less than 5% of those who donated blood yet they represent circa 14% of the population.

I wonder if the population of these communities are there at the front of the queue to receive blood?

Coupled with the fact that due to the rise in popularity of hard stickers which means you cannot give blood for a time means blood stocks are dwindling.

Is this fair on the wider population?

One has to find some benefits before one can reasonably claim to have found more.

Bully for them but it's hardly a reason to claim immigration is a good thing.

High time the labs found a decent temporary artificial substitute.

No; health care should never be limited to just some. We are all equal in the community. What folk opt to do voluntarily give makes them worthy of a pat on the back. Restricting is an appalling suggestion.

I think it’s a similar situation with organ donation – and adoption. Incomers don’t seem to ‘join in’ much - unless they're on the receiving end.

Personally I am all for - if you dont participate then you are at the bottom of the queue. i.e. if you are not on an organ doner list then someone who is will get priortiy.

And that goes for the whole population too not just immigrants.

The problem you here is that the report combine two different figures to get a headline. "Black, Asian and minority ethnic communities" are clearly not all immigrants, many of which are multi-generation British. Very poor journalism
