I enjoy Puck puzzles but they do twist your head a bit!

Very grateful for this explanation, 'tho had guessed the solution. Have just discovered that ELP in 15ac relates to Emerson, Lake and Palmer, and have just worked out 'figure of 8s' in 10ac. But can anyone explain the function of the name LAMBERT in 12ac.? (I have the solution). Weird puzzle by the mischievous Puck!
