I had some last minute bits to buy and headed off to the shops. I was wearing an opal ring and as I went to pick something off a shelf, I caught the ring on the metal shelf edge and the opal flew out. A kindly shelf stacker joined me on all fours on the floor and bless her, she found the stone. So far, so good....and I then discovered I couldn't get up from the floor. I have little strength in my arms, my new knee was refusing to co-operate and the small pelvic fracture decided to complain.
The shelf stacker dragged her wire cage over to me so I could hang on to it to haul myself up. After much puffing and panting I was still on the floor. The shelf stacker then enlisted the help of another customer and with me hanging onto the cage, they took an arm each and tried to lift me. At this point my bra pinged open and began to work its way upwards. Eventually they hauled me to my feet and by this time I was dusty, red faced, hot & bothered.....and my bra was wrapped around my neck & fully visible as I was wearing a v necked jumper.
Not my most dignified look!
Oh dear Mrs o. What a horrible thing to happen, and then you go and get nasty remarks from all these small-minded people who poke fun at your embarrassment. (They are so witty aren't they). I think you need a hug from us all. Do you think anyone might have filmed it and put it on Facebook (she said hopefully).
