Listener No. 4378: Present Day By Horvendile

I'm surprised that there isn't a thread up for this yet. (Apologies if there is one)
I started on it this afternoon, having only returned to the UK this morning.
Just a couple of loose ends to tie up, but most of it was pretty straightforward.
I loved the idea of including the code-square within the grid itself.
Thanks Horvendile.

After a fair amount of staring and cold-solving I was really pleased to have worked out some useful logic around the answers that overlapped with two of the Playfair squares... only to be completely flummoxed (and therefore doubting myself) when no phrases seemed to fit. Turns out I had 23a wrong. I see I'm not on the only one. For me this was the only weakness of a very tough but fair puzzle. There are two legitimate answers for 23a (differing in just one letter) and the one I initially found not only meant fruitless searching for a non-existent keyword but also made me rule out the obvious (and correct) answer at 29a. Got there in the end, though! Thanks Horvendile.
