I noticed today that there were no fewer than nine people, asking re the same clue in the Exp Mag £1000 (answer - actioned), including a couple in the Quizzes and Puzzles. I wonder if anyone ever thinks of trying the Search function?

Not everyone does but never mind , usually gets sorted.

Some people perhaps choose to post it because they enjoy the interaction and it also suits some of he regulars as it gives them to answer within seconds of the clue being posted. It probably suits the Ed too as it boosts the usage figures. Related Questions often shows that the same clue has been asked lots of times but posters don't see that until after they've posted.
Anyway, it's possible that for every 10 people who asked for the answer to 'put into effect' there were far more than that who found it from the search box- we don't see those
