I have just returned from Tesco, on my annual socks and pants safari, and I was just wondering.

Why do us chaps always have to work our way through endless racks and displays of of women's clothing, some of it of an intimate nature, to get to our part of the shop ?

Designed by women, so you will buy them something as well.
Ok Mikey,....if that's the tale you're going with, then best of luck...;)

It's mainly women who clothes shop and boxers and budgie smugglers are not that enticing so they get shoved to the back.
Intimate nature?

You can completely miss the womens section in our Tesco if you go the long way round.

And here M&S and BHS and such like have ladies and gents on different floors.
And that's true Prudie. In the 8 years I've been with OH I've only known him to buy clothes for himself once...and that was for our holiday.

His mother buys most of his clothes :-)
I was given a £100-00 M&S voucher for Xmas. So I'm awash with pants and socks
Tesco is never a good shopping experience for me. Heading in, I ignore to ten bays of promo crap, which at this moment is probably Easter Eggs. Leave logic at home, as it is up and down the aisles just to get to the basics. The clothes range is rammed into the smallest area - clothes shopping should be very much a visual experience. Mr AC sent me there a year or so ago for a tie and a belt, think I came out with a Happy Birthday Banner and a dog lead, it was the closest I could find.
I can't say I understand the problem.
in Tesco? In my local big Tesco you can wander into the clothing section from all four sides. What draws you to your particular route is hard to say, but a psychiatrist might be able to shed some light...
You must have a large Tesco, Jno. Ours is one floor, the clothing is opposite the veg aisle. The layout is awful. Do you want roast parsnips or bra for tea?

In the Tesco I was in this morning, all the clothing was upstairs and when you get off the escalator, you can only turn left, straight into the ladies part.

The mens dept. is at the far end of the store and I had no choice but to wander through a thicket of bras, pants, etc, in order to get to my socks !

I am not sure that the adage that most mens clothing is bought by mummies and/or wives is still true anymore, but I expect to be corrected on that issue !
You didn't have to try them on.
Laughed out loud at Prudies answer!! ;0)
