14d Found out about 6 (4) ?N?O (6 answer is LOOSE) Presumably UNDO (within the clue text) but why? Or is it just a bit sloppy?

undo means to loosen something
To undo something, it becomes loose

Loose can mean to set free or release, so it's perfectly acceptable in that context

I hadn't realised that loose was a verb as well - sounds American to me, but it seems to be right. I just made a link to the freedictionary (is that US or UK?), which seems to hve a lot more content than Oxford / Chambers / Dictionary.com that I have used in the past. Thanks for that tip Cap'n2
