Swimming in mud as usual, heavy hints appreciated. All clues seem to be same length hence 60 clues 40 something spaces. Help! Forgive broken sentences AB collapses after a short time.

Struggled all week with this. Took a leap of faith at 1am this morning and started populating the grid as I couldn't get to sleep. All finished by 3am. Good job I'm not working today!!

I have about 30 answers and I can see 3 combinations. But not sure where to enter them.
I have one 6 letter answer.
I am still trying to solve the one that starts with R.
I don't know where the other two are. Combination of two 3 letters?

Placing 6 letter ones or getting lucky with 1a may help. But I need to solve more clues before I can start with the grid.
