There had been exceptional snow - very unusual for the area. Many of the mourners, including his widow, didn't get there in time - but they went ahead anyway.
Actually his widow was suffering alzheimers, so I don't think she knew what was going on anyway.

I was obliged to attend the funeral of a man I detested.....a ghastly and evil old man....
I was following the funeral procession with my favourite aunt as passenger when, about a mile from the crem, the horn on my car started blasting..... beeep......beep.......
I pulled over to try to stop the noise with no luck so we carried on to the service.
The turn into Kettering crem is awkward and I took it too fast.....still beeping... The milk float swerved to avoid me and lost lord knows how many crates and bottles.....you can imagine the noise of my car horn and breaking bottles.
The coffin was just being taken out of the car at this point....at the chapel nearest to us wouldn't you know it......couldn't have been one of the chapels around the back......
My aunt and I had lost it by now......I knew that god was letting this man know what I thought of him....
My brother in law didn't share our humour.....he marched over to my car....ripped the bottom of the steering column off and pulled out some wires.
The beep beeping stopped but our laughter didn't.....we spent the service sitting in the crem garden.....still laughing......xx
