4 days after a CT Scan, Mr Cuppa has been called back to the hospital for a further procedure, in 2 days time. Initially they offered an appointment tomorrow!!

The procedure they want to do is to look into the bladder. He has already had investigations via the same method 3 times in the last 7 weeks.

I guess its not unusual to be pretty concerned as to whats going on now.

This is a routine procedure called a cystoscopy and will almost certainly be performed by freezing the penis&lower urinary tract and performed as a day case.
Purely exploratory and non invasive, but biopsies may be taken if appropriate.

Routine procedure.
What does invasive/non-invasive mean inn medical terms, Sqad?

Thanks Squad.

He's already had 2 flexible and one rigid Cystoscope in the last 7 weeks.

I'm thinking maybe the CT must have showed something the previous test missed so a biopsy is needed.

S'all a game backwards and forwards to the hospital. But, how lucky we are to have the NHS. When so many complain about it. we have nothing but praise.

invasive..........cutting tissue.....skin, muscles etc.
non -invasive......not cutting tissues but doing the job from the outside, usually if not always with a telescope........laparoscope for abdominal procedures, e.g gall bladder.
Thanks, Sqad. I would have thought that sticking something up my willy was pretty invasive!
LOL^^^depends what it is........;-)
