Thank you for all those answers. I had been trying 'catch' for 'collar'. Do the police 'pinch' a wrongdoer when they 'collar' him? Glad to have IONIA explained, thank you. I like the non C of E answer for 'Romans'. Must look up the meaning of 'nonce'; is the idea of it being for 'one occasion only' covered by the word 'present' in the clue? Is it rather a weak clue, apart from the 'non C of E' part of it? Sorry for delay in thanking you all for this. Hope you read this.
