13a.Going up the wall? Take this. (4,6) The checking letters give me a possible answer as "Rope ladder", can somebody explain?

Rope ladder is correct- Not a very good clue, I hink the setter was trying to baffle with "going up the wall?" inferring going mad.
a rope ladder goes up a wall and you would "take it" if you wanted to go up the wall ??
