dont get 16 across - it works out as GAVOTTE but the clue is devoted nurses going too far to dance - can someone parse this for me please?

Thanks very much for that Mamyalynne - I did not know that - and thank you also dannyk13. Incidentally I noticed the posts re difficulties with the site - at the weekend I could not get beyond the start - totally froze whenever the page appeared - not for the first time either - had difficulty this morning just now too
