Snow capped
topped?
Where was the L from please cran? Capped looks good
Ledges
snow lipped?
I can see 'topped' working as well as 'capped' - 'lipped' is a new one on me and 'ledges' implies a noun which the clue doesn't.
I think clue should be wintry or winter (probably the former). I have seen snow lipped but it was only suggested based on the pattern. I'd go for capped, topped and tipped in that order.
I recall cran rarely returns so we may not know whether the L is right
Are summits not nouns or are they summit else
:)
Yes of course summits are nouns, but to describe them you need an adjective.

I'm probably reading too much into the clue and as FF says, we may never find out.

You may well be right.
It's prob 'snow capped'. Sounds the best answer.
Could be levels
snow levels is a noun. If the word 'with' wasn't there then it would fit.
Think Snow Capped is the answer, the clue giving the L is - Lucky object (6) - I put MasCot, giving a C for Capped
