Just a brief note to say that if anyone requires either a Sunday Times Cross 14k gold Ball Pen awarded as the prize in their cryptic crossword or a Daily Telegraph logoed Fountain Pen awarded for their Saturday cryptic crossword, I am disposing of one of each, both brand new and boxed, on ebay starting today and finishing next Sunday (Nov.27th).

Thank you to all my friends on the Answer Bank who've sent me good wishes on my good fortune after so many years of trying to be first "out of the hat". Without them many's the time I'd never have been in the hat in the first place. It's lovely to win some prizes at last. I'm still using the Parker pens my Father, in his wisdom, gave me for my twenty-first over fifty years ago; the Ball Pen has had many dozens of refills, the Fountain Pen just one new nib and the pencil like most is still languishing in the original box which allows me to dispose of the newcomers.



For others of a less charitable nature who only see anger and conflict at every turn I wish them well in their applications to become Traffic Wardens or Bog Inspectors.
