Hello. Me again. I have three queries please.
49 ac. Garment, much-loved, just right to wrap one about. With the letters I have, petticoat fits. But why?
45 d. Place for one in a pie? If petticoat is right then apple fits but apart from going a pie, I don't follow the reasoning.
And lastly, 46 ac. Expression of pilot faced with emergency. Grimace fits but the only logic I can see is. " grim ace" . Is that it?

45d substitute pl(ace) for I in 'a pie'
Petticoat - 'pet' (much-loved) + 'to a T' (just right, to wrap) 'i (one) c(irca)'

Yes, 'grimace' is right, a pilot can be an ace.

Hope you're keeping well :-)
