6d. Dark envelope. specially prepared for hiding change in. With the letters I have, i think the answer is "saturnine" which meets the dark bit (I looked it up..) but I don't get the rest.

Wow! I have just looked up "Galen". "A Pergamene physician and writer at the court of Marcus Aurelius in the 2nd century AD." I feel so guilty not knowing that! (I now need to look up "Pergamene". Another hole in my knowledge!)
