New Zealand Accents !
24 Answers
Earlier this afternoon, I was talking to a chap from New Zealand, that I met a few years ago. He was staying with his parents here in the village.
But I really couldn't understand much of what he said ! He emigrated to NZ about 30 years ago, and rarely comes home ( I know his Mum and Dad )
After a few minutes, I had to make my excuses and got back in the car. He must have thought I was a bit twp, as we say here in Wales !
But I was really struggling....anybody else have problems with Kiwi accent, or have a I really gone twp ?

Even when watching the rugby if there is a nz ref he seems to say sit instead of set during the scrum. Originally from Wales and often visit and haven't heard the word twp for a long time.
