Last year, instead of buying Christmas presents for each other, our friends and us had a short break in one of these big country hotels which are quiet during the winter months. It was near Chesterfield and on the Saturday night we had one of those murder mystery events and a nice dinner. On the Sunday we visited the Crich Tram Museum (my choice). This year we want to do a similar thing, but obviously somewhere different. So lets hear your ideas please. It doesn't necessarily have to be a "famous" touristy place like Bath, just somewhere where there will be SOMETHING interesting or different. We'll be in a car so a few miles away from the hotel isn't a problem.
Wherever you choose, Horseshoes you must by a Treasure Trails quiz. Google them.
I've done umpteen in places I visit...fun and gets you to interesting little hidden nooks.
I have only had one I didn't enjoy.....avoid the Scarborough one.....x
We wouldn't go to Scarborough anyway, because we fairly recently went there to see Status Quo in the outdoor theatre. Visited Whitby too - that was lovely.
