Name this VERY old computer game...

Many MANY years ago I remember playing a game on my computer (not sure if it was on my Spectrum but it was around that time) which I would love to have another go at... if only because I remember being so frustrated by it that I gave up...
It was a both a maze game and a problem solver type game, very simple in its graphics (linear is perhaps the word I am looking for) where you had to move around a maze avoiding being shot by enemy gunplacements... The gunplacements were at various points around the maze, and also in this maze there were large white balls which moved back and forward in a sequence whereby you could use the ball(s) to block yourself from being spotted by the gun placements at certain times and therefore access other parts of the maze. But also the balls could get in your way, blocking various parts of the maze, so you had to work out a way around the maze, avoiding getting shot...
I remember you could access a 'topdown' map of the maze which showed all the gun placements and balls but when you played the game you were at 'ground level' in the maze...
I can't for the life of me remember what the name of the game was or the object of the game and hope that my sketchy description will be understood by someone...
Thanks in advance!

Thinking back... at the time I had a Spectrum I also has a word processor computer which was also capable of very basic linear based games (maaan I wish I could remember the name of THAT computer too!!)... all the games were in the display colours of the computer, that being green and black and white... I think it was on THIS computer that my mystery game appeared!
I feel very old... heh...
