Dickie I have contacted the Telegraph regarding this.I submitted the p puzzle with 18d as Pigs ears but it came up as one mistake.The person I spoke to was a bit doubtful that there was a mistake so a phone call from you would help.
Lynne there are eight lights so it has to be pigs ears.

Ok Danny will do the grid is wrong there should be a black square on the bottom line to match the top line, I'll let you know how I get on

Hi Danny I called and a nice lady said yes they'd already had a call or calls regarding this and it was being dealt with she took my number and promised to get back to me, I'll let you know what transpires

Hi Danny just been back to the puzzle, it's been updated to a (4,3) clue and the blank filled in, entered it and got a 100% no phone call though

Just had phone call from Telegraph. Apparently the setter put an apostrophe in pig's which is why there were 8 lights.
Thanks folks. I was scratching my head so hard I got splinters!
