I first thought of Nitpick but is does not fit, the letters I have are ?A?p??? the A is coming from the clue 8a Yarn made from the soft coat of a goat or rabbit ~ I have angora which fits in the other clues.

Sorry I should have put fault-finding, so yes that would make it carping.
