An enjoyable puzzle based on a Chambers word that probably applies to me on occasion. As the clues were mostly straightforward I carried on cold-solving long beyond the point when I should have spotted how to enter the answers. I found the SE corner trickier than the rest.

This was a proper introductory Listener.
The clues were not the hardest, but they were more than adequate. One gripe - a Newbie would have struggled to deduce the theme whereas the regulars would have got it instantly, in some cases before solving any clues.

I too knew the 11-letter word. Not that I spotted it immediately. I had two other candidates before it, and this prolonged the cold solving.
